The Trump administration is currently considering the release of an audio recording and transcript of a conversation between Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche and Ghislaine Maxwell, a key figure in the Jeffrey Epstein case.

The Justice Department has been digitizing, transcribing, and redacting the interview materials, with a focus on protecting the identities of victims. The White House officials involved in the discussions include Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, Attorney General Pam Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel, and others. They recently gathered at Vice President J.D. Vance’s residence to deliberate the matter.

The release of the materials could potentially reignite public controversy surrounding the Epstein case, but some officials see it as an opportunity to control the narrative. President Donald Trump has denied involvement in Maxwell’s recent prison transfer and defended the credibility of Blanche’s interview, but has stated he was not consulted about the release.

Maxwell's legal team opposes the unsealing of the transcripts. The transcripts and audio may be released soon, but only after thorough redaction and approval by senior administration officials.

The administration's handling of the Epstein case and crafting a unified response are expected to be the main focus of a dinner involving top Trump administration officials. The White House has repeatedly stated that Wiles, Vance, Bondi, Patel, and Blanche are the leaders of the Trump administration’s ongoing strategy regarding the Epstein files.

The House Oversight Committee has issued nearly a dozen subpoenas to the Justice Department and high-profile figures for files and information related to Epstein. Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison for grooming and sexually abusing underage girls. She has continued to appeal her conviction, including with the Supreme Court.

Maxwell was recently moved from a Florida federal prison to a lower-security federal prison camp in Texas. There have been discussions about Blanche holding a press conference or doing a high-profile interview, possibly with popular podcaster Joe Rogan.

The decision to release the audio recording and transcript of the interview between Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche and Ghislaine Maxwell is still under active consideration, with no public release authorized yet.
