Military leaders from NATO set to conduct virtual meeting, focusing on the ongoing situation in Ukraine.

High-ranking NATO officials scheduled to convene digitally for a discussion concerning Ukraine.

In a significant development, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron are spearheading a coalition of 30 countries to establish security guarantees for Ukraine. The coalition, now including Japan and Australia, aims to provide reassurance and support for Ukraine's security as diplomatic efforts to secure peace progress.

The coalition's discussions will involve high-level meetings, with the US President Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and European top politicians, including German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, convening on Wednesday to discuss developments concerning Ukraine. Trump is expected to update officers on the current security environment.

Meanwhile, NATO's top brass, led by Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, will also hold a video meeting on Wednesday. However, there has been no clear indication that NATO will be directly involved in the security guarantees or the potential deployment of European troops to Ukraine.

The US President's stance on Ukraine's membership in NATO remains unclear, with no mention of Trump stating that Ukraine should abandon all hopes of entering the Alliance as part of any peace deal with Russia.

In a separate development, Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin has agreed that individual NATO members, including the US, could develop bilateral security agreements to enforce any cease to hostilities. Emmanuel Macron has also called for additional sanctions if Putin does not show a willingness for peace.

As part of these discussions, the UK's Chief of the Defense Staff, Admiral Tony Radakin, has travelled to Washington to begin talks about these security guarantees. US President Donald Trump's exact role in the process is yet to be defined.

The coalition plans to meet with US officials to discuss these security guarantees and prepare for the deployment of a reassurance force if hostilities end. General Alexus Grynkewich (USAF) will give an update on the current security environment during these discussions.

Despite these collaborative efforts, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has clarified that there is no agreement on deploying European troops to Ukraine at this time. The update on the current security environment will be given as diplomatic efforts to secure peace in Ukraine progress.
