High-profile NFL player Myles Garrett allegedly clocked driving his Ferrari at a speed of 100mph, reported weeks after Shedeur Sanders faced criticism for speeding.

Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett found himself in hot water after a speeding incident early on August 9, 2025, just hours after the team's preseason opener against the Carolina Panthers[1][2][3][4].

According to reports, Garrett was driving a gray Ferrari at 100mph on Interstate 71 near the team facility in Berea, Ohio[1][2][4]. The incident took place at around 2:06am and resulted in a $250 ticket, with a court appearance scheduled for Thursday[1][2][4]. However, Garrett can avoid the court appearance by paying the fine.

This is not Garrett's first speeding offense; he has a history of such incidents, with at least seven prior citations including instances of driving at 120 mph and 105 mph, as well as a reckless driving charge[1][2]. In 2022, Garrett was involved in a serious car accident when his Porsche rolled multiple times, resulting in injuries[1][2][4].

The Browns' head coach Kevin Stefanski described the latest speeding incident as "extremely disappointing"[5]. Garrett recently signed a lucrative four-year, $160 million contract extension with the Browns, making him one of the highest-paid non-quarterbacks in NFL history[1][2].

Meanwhile, teammate Shedeur Sanders made his debut at quarterback in Cleveland's 30-10 victory in Charlotte, which occurred just hours before Garrett's speeding incident[6]. Sanders was also caught speeding twice in June, driving 91mph in a 65mph zone and 101mph in a 60mph zone[6]. However, no information was provided about any connection between Sanders' speeding incidents and Garrett's speeding incident.

Andrew Berry, Browns GM, addressed Sanders' speeding incidents, stating that they have been addressed with him and he understands the implications and consequences[7]. No information was provided about any potential disciplinary action against Sanders for his speeding incidents.
