High-Profile Couple Luke Ricketson and Kate Waterhouse Sued by Builder Over $161K Renovation Bill
A legal dispute has arisen between high-profile couple Luke Ricketson and Kate Waterhouse, and their builder, James Watkins of Jakin Constructions. Watkins is suing the couple for $161,000 over a $3.2 million renovation to their Mosman mansion, which was completed in late 2024.
The renovation, which began in 2020, included a new pool and interior strip. However, Watkins alleges that the couple has refused to pay the outstanding balance, amounting to $161,000. Ricketson and Waterhouse have not yet filed a defence to the lawsuit.
Ricketson has spoken out about the matter, stating, 'We've been overcharged and we'll be defending the matter, we're fair people.' The couple's lawyer, Matt Hourn, has revealed that they have obtained expert auditing advice which raises questions about the invoiced costs.
The dispute between the couple and their builder is ongoing. Watkins' lawsuit seeks to recover the outstanding balance of $161,000. Ricketson and Waterhouse maintain their innocence and are preparing their defence.
