High poll reveals nearly a quarter of Bremen's residents expressing strong discontent towards local government

In Bremen, Germany, the experience of interacting with public service offices at the Bürgeramt has been a mixed bag, according to recent surveys and feedback from residents.

A poll conducted by Radio Bremen revealed that approximately 3,000 listeners aged 15 to 90 shared their opinions on various aspects of these services. The findings suggest that while staff are generally courteous, there can be variability in friendliness depending on the office and time.

One area of concern raised by respondents is the implementation of digitalization. While Bremen has been making strides in digitalizing appointments and certain procedures, the process is not yet complete, and some in-person visits are still required. This has led to frustration among some users who find the digital services inefficient or confusing.

Long wait times, both on-site and for issue processing, were another issue mentioned by many respondents. This was the main reason for dissatisfaction with the Citizen Service Center, with nearly half of the participants expressing frustration over delays and limited online services.

However, it's not all negative. The Quarter Management, Customs, Police, Pension Office, Health Department, and certain other institutions such as the Immigration and Building Offices, the School Authority, and the BAföG Office, stood out positively due to their friendliness and swift issue resolution.

In the poll, 37% of the listeners were rather satisfied with the Citizen Service Center, citing the friendliness and competence of the staff as the main reason for their satisfaction. Yet, a quarter of the participants were very dissatisfied with the authority they had contact with. The Housing Benefits Office performed the worst among the authorities mentioned.

For those seeking more specific insights or current user reviews about Bremen’s Bürgeramt experience, checking local forums, official Bremen websites, or recent citizen surveys might provide more detailed information.

The poll revealed that despite generally courteous staff, variability in friendliness and long wait times are issues in some offices at the Bürgeramt, causing frustration among citizens, especially with regards to digitalization and delays in issue processing. On the positive side, the Quarter Management, Customs, Police, Pension Office, Health Department, Immigration and Building Offices, School Authority, and BAföG Office received praise for their friendliness and swift issue resolution in politics and general-news related to Bremen's Bürgeramt services.
