High-diving event, "Wings of the World," set for Sofia's stage
The first-ever International High-Diving Festival, the "Wings of the World," is set to take place at Sochi's Morport on August 23. This groundbreaking event promises an adrenaline-pumping spectacle as 16 athletes from 13 different countries showcase their impressive skills.
The competition consists of three jumps: one mandatory and two freestyle, providing a blend of technical precision and individual flair. The participating countries include Russia, Armenia, Brazil, the UK, Germany, Spain, Colombia, Poland, the USA, South Korea, Australia, Mexico, and France.
Athletes at the festival will perform jumps from a 27-meter high diving board, reaching speeds of up to 95 km/h. They will showcase complex tricks in free fall, demonstrating their mastery of the art of high diving.
Among the confirmed participants are Carlos Jimeno from Spain, Miguel Garcia from Colombia, and multiple world champion Artem Silchenko from Russia. However, as the event approaches, more information about the athletes and their profiles is expected to be released.
