New Judge Sworn In at Delhi High Court

Justice Vimal Kumar Yadav was officially sworn in as a judge of the Delhi High Court on August 11, 2025. The ceremony took place at the Delhi High Court, with Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya administering the oath.

The ceremony was attended by fellow judges, senior advocates, family members, and distinguished members of the legal community. Justice Yadav's appointment marks the latest addition to the Delhi High Court, increasing the total number of active judges to 45.

Justice Yadav's elevation to the High Court was proposed by the Supreme Court Collegium on July 28, 2025. His name was subsequently cleared for appointment by the central government on August 8, 2025.

Prior to his appointment, Justice Yadav served as Principal District and Sessions Judge at Patiala House Courts. With over three decades of experience in the lower judiciary, he brings a wealth of expertise to the Delhi High Court.

The Delhi High Court is yet to reach its approved strength of 60 judges. With the addition of Justice Yadav, the court now has 44 active judges. It is worth noting that another judge, Bhavini Srivastava, was also sworn in during the same ceremony.
