Routinier Felix Passlack verlässt Bochum - Hibernian signs Passlack as Bochum secures Olsen in swift defensive reshuffle
Hibernian Edinburgh has secured defender Felix Passlack on a three-and-a-half-year contract. The move comes after his exit from VfL Bochum, where he spent two and a half seasons. Meanwhile, Bochum has quickly filled the gap by signing Oliver Olsen from Randers FC on a long-term contract template.
Passlack's departure from Bochum was finalised in early 2026, just months before his contract was due to expire. The 27-year-old had joined the club in 2023 after leaving Borussia Dortmund, where he spent several years earlier in his career. At Bochum, he made 69 appearances but gradually became a fringe player in recent months.
To replace Passlack, Bochum turned to Danish full-back Oliver Olsen. The 23-year-old has committed to the club until 2030, offering stability in defense. VfL coach Uwe Rösler highlighted Olsen's strengths, calling him physically strong, tenacious, and highly durable—a player built for the demands of the league.
Olsen arrives from Randers FC, where he established himself as a reliable defender. His signing marks a fresh start for Bochum, while Passlack now looks to revive his career in Scotland with Hibernian.
Passlack's move to Hibernian gives him a new challenge after his time at Bochum. Olsen's long-term contract with VfL Bochum suggests the club sees him as a key figure for years to come. Both players now face different paths as their respective clubs prepare for the next phase of the season.
