Finance Experience: New Learning Project Begins in Frankfurt - Hesse's bold move to teach real-world finance in Frankfurt's heart
Hesse's Ministry of Finance has launched a new initiative to bring financial education to life. Called FeiF – Experiencing Finance in Frankfurt, the programme aims to make money matters more tangible for students and professionals. Pilot sessions are already running at major institutions like Deutsche Börse Group and DZ Bank.
The initiative officially begins with the ringing of the stock exchange bell during Global Money Week. It targets school classes, university students, and businesses, offering hands-on experience in financial decision-making. Minister Alexander Lorz emphasised its importance, stating, 'Financial literacy is life literacy.'
The *FeiF* platform provides standardised modules on five core topics: economic basics, retirement planning, lending and debt, digital innovation, and entrepreneurship. Companies and institutions design these modules, ensuring they remain neutral and free of advertising. Groups can then customise day-long programmes to fit their specific interests. Hesse is only the second federal state to introduce such a project. Berlin launched *Schule und Steuern* in March 2025, focusing on financial education for grades 9–12 with over 100 teaching units.
The programme offers practical financial learning without commercial influence. Schools, universities, and businesses can now book tailored sessions through the FeiF platform. The initiative expands access to financial knowledge across Hesse, starting with Frankfurt's key financial institutions.
