Ayr Racing Meeting Yields Exciting Wins

The Ayr racing meeting in Scotland witnessed a series of thrilling races over the weekend, with several horses showcasing their prowess and proving to be the stars of the event.

In the Ladbrokes Ayr Bronze Cup, Danny Tudhope rode Winged Messenger to victory, making it three wins this season for the trainer Julie Camacho's charge. Lauren Young, who finished third on Eternal Sunshine, described the horse's performance as a 'blinder,' despite a stumble at the start that nearly unseated Young.

Winged Messenger, who won the Ayr Bronze Cup in 2024, has significantly improved this year, according to Camacho. The horse, who was once a worry before races and not a great eater, has shown remarkable progress, much to the delight of the trainer.

Another standout performer at the meeting was Chairmanfourtimes, a 90-rated filly with some black type. The two-year-old, who has won three times at the meeting, made a successful step up to Listed company at Ayr, with Adrian Keatley, the horse's trainer, believing that the filly is a proper five-furlong horse and a strong contender for next year. Oisin McSweeney rode Chairmanfourtimes to victory in the British EBF Stallions Harry Rosebery Stakes.

Adrian Keatley also had a double at Ayr, with his second win coming in the form of Chairmanfourtimes' triumph in the British EBF Stallions Harry Rosebery Stakes.

Clifford Lee also had a successful day at the races, winning the 7f nursery on Aspiral and the Listed Arran Scottish Sprint EBF Fillies' Stakes on Beautiful Diamond. The latter race saw Beautiful Diamond return at the top of her game after a disappointing effort in the Palace House Stakes at Newmarket four months previously. James Cowley, assistant to Beautiful Diamond's trainer Karl Burke, attributed the horse's improved performance to the soft ground at Ayr.

Just Dottie won the 1m5f handicap at Ayr, while Cisco Disco took division two of the mile handicap.

Andy Finneran, a part-owner of Chairmanfourtimes, experienced a mixed bag of emotions at the meeting, having lost another horse the day before. However, the win of Chairmanfourtimes provided a much-needed boost to his spirits.

Julie Camacho also revealed that they had considered getting rid of Winged Messenger last year, but something has changed in the horse's life that has improved his behavior and performance. The exact cause of the change remains a mystery, but it has undoubtedly been a positive development for the horse and his team.

All in all, the Ayr racing meeting was a success, with several horses showcasing their talent and providing exciting races for the spectators. The meeting served as a stepping stone for several horses, with many looking forward to their future races with anticipation.
