Herthaannounces new leadership with CEO appointment
Hertha BSC Appoints Peter Görlich as New CEO
Peter Görlich has been named as the new CEO of Hertha BSC, effective September 1, 2025. The announcement was made following a unanimous decision by the club's presidium and supervisory board.
Görlich brings a wealth of experience in sports management to his new role, having served as CEO of TSG Hoffenheim from 2015 to 2021. Prior to this, he held leadership positions in various healthcare-focused companies.
Görlich's academic credentials include a degree in sports science and a Master of Business Administration. These qualifications, combined with his extensive experience in football management, make him well-equipped to lead Hertha BSC.
Ralf Huschen will form a dual leadership with Görlich at the club. It remains unclear whether Görlich will continue his role at SHR University Heidelberg or relinquish his position there.
The club has not commented on the personnel matter, but reports suggest that Rainer Widmayer will succeed Andreas Neuendorf as the head of the youth academy.
Hertha BSC is still searching for a striker, with Mergim Berisha reportedly turning down the offer. Another important position in the club that remains vacant is the head of the youth academy.
The club will host Karlsruhe SC on Sunday, providing an opportunity for Görlich to make his mark in his new role.
Notable figures such as Oliver Kahn, Jonas Boldt, and Ralf Rangnick have declined offers from Hertha BSC in recent times.
