Welcome back to Berlin, Leon Jensen! The 27-year-old midfielder will be joining hometown team Hertha BSC after a successful stint with the Karlsruher SC in the 2. Bundesliga. The move comes following a free transfer, with Jensen signing a contract that runs until June 30, 2027. Prior to his latest move, Jensen had spent four rewarding years at the Wildpark.

Jensen racked up 78 appearances for Karlsruhe in the second league and the DFB-Pokal, scoring 10 goals. As the curtain falls on the current season, Karlsruhe will be facing off against SC Paderborn on Sunday (3:15 PM/Sky), with Paderborn in hot pursuit of a spot in the Bundesliga.

Leon Jensen's Journey

From Berlin beginnings to the heart of the 2. Bundesliga, Jensen's career has been a rollercoaster ride. His previous stops include stints with Werder Bremen, Düdelingen, and Zwickau before landing in Karlsruhe in 2021. Interestingly, he started his football journey with Hertha BSC, having spent two years with their U19 team (2014-2016)before venturing out.

The inked deal between Jensen and Hertha BSC was warmly welcomed by the club's sporting director, Benjamin Weber, who praised the midfielder's growth during his time with Karlsruhe. He further pointed out that Hertha had never severed ties with Jensen following his departure from the youth academy. In a nod to his roots, Jensen himself expressed his long-standing dream of suiting up for Hertha BSC on the Olympiastadion turf, describing the transfer as a homecoming. 💪🌟
