Hertha BSC has reshuffled its attacking options with two key loan moves. Croatian winger Josip Brekalo arrives from Real Oviedo, while Jón Dagur Þorsteinsson departs for Norwegian side SK Brann Bergen. Both deals run until the end of the season.

Brekalo joins Hertha on a short-term loan, with the option for an extra year. The 25-year-old brings experience from 35 Croatia caps and past Bundesliga spells at VfL Wolfsburg and VfB Stuttgart. In Spain, he scored four goals and provided three assists for Real Oviedo before the transfer.

Sporting director Benjamin Weber highlighted Brekalo's creativity and finishing ability. The club expects him to bolster their wide attack for the remainder of the campaign.

Meanwhile, Þorsteinsson has moved to Norway to secure more playing time. The Icelandic winger managed just one goal and two assists in 33 appearances for Hertha. Weber explained that the loan to SK Brann Bergen offers him a chance to develop at a top Norwegian club.

Brekalo's arrival adds depth to Hertha's wings, while Þorsteinsson's departure frees up space in the squad. The changes aim to strengthen the team's attacking options before the season's end. Both players will now focus on their new challenges in different leagues.
