SGS Essen appoints Belgian Jaques as new coach - Heleen Jaques Takes Charge as SGS Essen’s New Head Coach Mid-Season

SGS Essen has named Heleen Jaques as its new head coach. The Belgian will take over in January, joining forces with interim coach Jessica Wissmann. Her arrival comes as the club fights to avoid relegation from the Frauen-Bundesliga.

Jaques brings extensive experience to the role. As a player, she earned 97 caps for Belgium and competed in the German top flight with Herforder SV and 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam. After retiring, she worked as youth coordinator for the Belgian Football Association and assistant coach for the Belgian U16 team.

Jaques will officially begin her role in January. Her immediate task is to secure Essen’s place in the league. Longer term, she aims to define the club’s style and strengthen its foundations.
