Heavysaurus, the dinosaur-themed heavy metal band, returns with a new album and live shows.
Heavysaurus, the German heavy metal band that has been captivating audiences with their energetic performances, is set to release their new album "METAL" on January 30, 2026. This highly-anticipated release features 15 brand new songs, marking a significant milestone in the band's career.
The album is the brainchild of Michael Voss, who lends his vocal talents under the pseudonym Mr. Heavysaurus. The band's lineup includes some of the biggest names in the German music scene, such as Frank Beck (Gamma Ray), Christof Leim, Mathias Brede, Jürgen Steinmetz (Sons of Seasons), and Philipp Klinger (The New Black).
Heavysaurus, founded in 2017, is based on the concept of the Finnish band Hevisaurus, launched in 2009. The band's music style is reminiscent of heavy metal giants like Sabaton, Metallica, Iron Maiden, and Volbeat.
Following the album release, Heavysaurus will embark on a tour through Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The tour, dubbed the METAL Tour 2026, will not only showcase the band's new songs but also promises an interactive and engaging live program for family audiences.
The tour will connect generations through music, with the band's energetic performances getting both children and adults dancing, singing, and headbanging. The upcoming tour will not be a children's tour in the classic sense, but a musical adventure for all ages.
One of the tour's stops will be at Bremen's Modernes, scheduled for December 19, 2026. Other confirmed dates include February 6, 2026, at Kulturzentrum Hallwang in Hallwang, Austria, and February 21, 2026, at Fritz-Wunderlich-Halle in Kusel, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany. Additional venues in Germany are also mentioned, but no specific dates are available yet.
Heavysaurus continues to support "Die Arche", an organisation for disadvantaged children, by donating one euro from every ticket sold. The band has already performed over 350 shows during the "Pommesgabel Tour" in 2024 and 2025, demonstrating their commitment to entertaining fans across the country.
Frank Ramond, who has worked with Udo Lindenberg and Roger Cicero, translated the Finnish songs into German for Heavysaurus, ensuring that the band's unique concept is accessible to German-speaking audiences.
With their upcoming album release and tour, Heavysaurus is set to continue breaking boundaries as the world's first dinosaur metal band to perform on stage. Fans eagerly await the release of "METAL" and the opportunity to experience the band's energetic live performances.
For updates on tour dates, specific Swiss venues, or any other information, fans are advised to check official HEAVYSAURUS sources or ticket vendors closer to the tour year.
