Heavy Rains to Hit Mexico: Stay Informed, Take Precautions

Heavy rains are set to hit central, southern, and western Mexican states over the next few days. Citizens are advised to stay informed and take precautions.

The week will start with rainfall in northeast and central-south states due to the interaction of fronts and tropical humidity. On Tuesday, Veracruz and Chiapas can expect intense rainfall, ranging from 75 to 100 mm. The heaviest rains are forecast for Wednesday and Friday, with Thursday also bringing significant downpours.

Thursday is expected to be particularly wet in Mexico City, with heavy rainfall (25 to 50 mm) anticipated between Thursday night football and Friday. The states with the highest accumulations on Thursday will be Guerrero, Oaxaca, Chiapas, Tabasco, and Veracruz. Citizens are urged to avoid flooded streets and look for alternative routes. Do not cross areas of sudden currents or flash floods.

Stay informed about the official forecast and local alerts during the rains. The most significant rainfall is expected between Tuesday and Friday due to the combination of tropical atmospheric systems and waves. Take necessary precautions to ensure safety.
