In the city of Chelyabinsk, located in the Ural region of Russia, yesterday morning witnessed a surge in traffic jams due to heavy rainfall. The rainfall recorded was 39.4 mm, which equates to 48% of the monthly norm, causing significant disruptions to the city's traffic flow.

The congestion was particularly severe on Lenin Prospect, Freedom, Vorovsky, Brothers Kashirinykh, Chicherin streets, and the street of the First Five-Year Plan. The tram traffic on the street of the First Five-Year Plan was halted as a result of the traffic jams.

The "Yandex. Traffic" service has been monitoring the situation closely and has reported the traffic jams in Chelyabinsk. Our correspondent also confirmed the traffic chaos in the city.

In addition to Chelyabinsk, the traffic jams were also reported in the nearby city of Magnitogorsk. The heavy rain has led to a tripling of taxi prices in Chelyabinsk, making transportation more expensive for residents during this challenging time.

It is worth noting that the heavy rain and subsequent traffic disruptions in Chelyabinsk are not unique to the city. Other regions in Russia, such as Moscow and its surrounding areas, have been experiencing similar weather conditions, leading to flooding, underpasses becoming swimming pools, and traffic jams due to flooded roads.
