Heavy rain advisories announced for 54 Thai regions
Heads Up! 🌪️🌧️🛰️Thailand's weather outlook just got a bit dirty, according to the Meteorological Department. Listen up, 'cause it's downpour season in 54 provinces!
They've thrown a big, fat warning for thunderstorms and rain that'll drench several areas, with the East and the western coast of the South bearing the brunt. Bangkok and its hangar-round provinces? They'll be smacked by 60% thunderstorm coverage, as per the latest 24-hour forecast.
Got a lookout for flash floods and runoff, peeps in affected zones, especially around foothill areas, waterways, and low-lying zones. Farmers, don't forget to protect your crops like a mama bear guarding cubs! 🌱
Here's why: a moderate monsoon trough is chilling in the North and upper Northeast, swirling into a low-pressure system over northern Vietnam. Meanwhile, a powerhouse southwesterly monsoon just keeps on keepin' on, covering the Andaman Sea, the South, and the Gulf of Thailand.
The Andaman Sea and upper Gulf waves are going to rock up to 3 metres, or more in stormy zones. In the lower Gulf, waves will flare up to 2 metres but jump above that during thunderstorms. Navigating the seas? Sail with caution and stay out of storm areas, buddies. Small boats in the upper Andaman and upper Gulf should take the night off until at least June 13. ⛵️
There's more: a strong low-pressure system is cruising in the upper South China Sea, about to transform into a tropical cyclone between June 10 and 13, potentially messing up the regional weather patterns. Stay tuned!
Weather-forecasting indicates that the upcoming days will bring heavy rain and thunderstorms across 54 provinces in Thailand, according to the Meteorological Department. Farmers should take necessary precautions to protect their crops from flash floods and runoff, especially in foothill areas, waterways, and low-lying zones.
