In the past few days, heavy monsoon rains have been causing disruptions and tragedies across various parts of India.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of very heavy rainfall in several northern and northeastern states, including Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Assam, Meghalaya, and others. A red alert for heavy rains has been issued in New Delhi and the east of Rajasthan state.

The monsoon, especially in mountainous areas or with precarious infrastructure, has been exacerbating its effects, leading to an increase in fatalities and those affected each year. Sadly, at least three people have lost their lives due to a landslide in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, and three more in the north of India due to the monsoon. A woman remains missing in the same northern region.

The heavy rainfall has resulted in several homes being damaged overnight, and dozens of vehicles being washed away or piled up by flooding near a hospital. There is a high risk of flooding, flooding, falling trees, and damage to vulnerable structures in the alert areas. Heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and wind gusts of up to 40 kilometers per hour are expected in the Delhi region.

Emergency teams have been working tirelessly to rescue more than a dozen people trapped in their homes. However, the situation remains critical, with the authorities expecting the rainfall to continue at least until July 31 in the north and center of India, and until August 3 in the northeast.

The monsoon, which lasts until September, is essential for Indian agriculture but causes dozens of deaths and significant damage from flooding, landslides, and severe storms each year. Monsoons in India have become more powerful due to global warming.

Since June 29, when the monsoon established itself throughout Indian territory, nine days earlier than usual, the region has been experiencing heavy rainfall. Meteorological vigilance is being maintained in these regions to ensure the safety of the people.

At this moment, it appears that no relevant organization has issued a heavy rain warning in India or specified the alarm regions in the provided search results. Nevertheless, it is crucial for everyone to stay updated and follow the advice of local authorities during this challenging time.
