Heavy metal icons Judas Priest collaborate with ex-Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne to record a cover of the classic "War Pigs." The anticipated remake is slated for an imminent release.
Judas Priest and Ozzy Osbourne's Colossal Collaboration
In an exciting turn of events for the heavy metal world, Judas Priest has teamed up with the legendary Ozzy Osbourne for a cover version of Black Sabbath's iconic song, "War Pigs". This collaboration, referred to as "colossal" by Judas Priest's frontman, Rob Halford, was initiated by Ozzy's wife and manager, Sharon Osbourne.
The recording was completed shortly before Ozzy's passing on July 22, 17 days after his live retirement. Halford, expressing his feelings about missing Ozzy's retirement concert, stated he felt "gutted".
In this collaboration, Halford and Ozzy take turns singing lines throughout the song, creating a unique blend of their powerful vocal styles. The cover of "War Pigs" is nearing completion, with Halford stating "the green button's almost ready to go".
Judas Priest integrated a tribute to Ozzy into their live show, adding his face to the onstage video graphics for their song "Giants In The Sky". The band also paid tribute to Ozzy via social media following his death.
The collaboration's release date is yet to be confirmed, but it is expected to happen "pretty soon". The search results do not provide the specific planned release date at this time.
Meanwhile, Judas Priest is co-headlining a North American tour with Alice Cooper, starting on September 16 in Biloxi, Mississippi, and ending on October 26 in Houston, Texas. Alice Cooper, a "shock rock legend", is also part of this tour.
Tour dates and details can be found on Judas Priest's website. For those eagerly waiting for the release of the collaboration between Judas Priest and Ozzy Osbourne, keep an eye on the band's official channels for updates.
This collaboration is expected to hold a special place in music, marking the first time in Halford's entire life that he has been able to do a "duet" with Ozzy Osbourne. The collaboration was first revealed by Loudwire.
