On a blazing hot Sunday, meteorologists recorded an unprecedented temperature spike in the sun-kissed city of Anapa!
Sweltering temperatures reached a mind-boggling +31.9°C on June 8, leaving the old record in the dust. This scorching heatwave swept through Anapa on the very same day it had previously, back in 1988, when the temperature barely hit +29.6°C, according to "Weather and Climate" portal records.
Brace yourself, because the heat wave isn't over just yet! The mercury is set to soar even higher on June 9 in the Krasnodar region. The upcoming workweek in this region will be dominated by an anticyclone, which will bring a scorching dry spell and minimal rainfall. On Monday, temperatures are expected to skyrocket, particularly in the north where they could hit an astonishing +38°C!

As the sizzling Saturday gives way to the fiery Sunday, prepare yourself for the storm warning that's been announced for June 9. The intense heat has increased the risk of severe weather conditions, including thunderstorms, turning up the heat on the region even more! But, don't worry, as temperatures gradually start to moderate at the end of the workweek. By June 10, the highs will still be in the 90s°F (34°C), but they'll begin to drop significantly by the end of the week, settling in the late 50s to mid-60s°F (14–18°C). That means less extreme heat and a lower risk of storms!
