Heating ceased in mid-Omsk region.
In the middle of May 7th, 2025, the mayor of Omsk, Sergei Shelest, made an announcement about the wrap-up of the heating season. He had already ceased functioning in more than half of the Omsk region.
"Today, the heating season has already been terminated in 19 districts and the city of Omsk. As for the northern districts, the decision will be made by the heads of municipalities in the near future", the city chief shared.
Officially, the batteries in homes and institutions in Omsk have started being switched off on May 5th, and the laborious process of stopping the heat supply is still ongoing.
Shleast also declared that in 2025, over 100 km of heating networks would be replaced in line with the federal project "Modernization of Communal Infrastructure" under the new project "Infrastructure for Life".
"Specialists will need to tidy up 22 linear objects - construct, reconstruct, and perform capital repairs on the heating, water networks. This will significantly improve the quality of contracted municipal services. The program is planned for three years, over this period, we will modernize 49 objects in the municipal districts and the city of Omsk, for these purposes, 1.9 billion rubles have been allocated from the federal budget", the head of the city administration clarified further.
Remember, the decision to conclude the heating period is made by local government bodies independently.
