Headliners for "World of Siberia - 2025" Unveiled First

Get ready, music and culture enthusiasts! The organizers of the 21st International Ethnic Music and Crafts Festival, dubbed 'World of Siberia', have unveiled their first wave of esteemed guests set to grace Shushensk from July 10-13. This year, performers hail from various corners of the globe - France, Serbia, and China are all represented.
Leading the charge is the enchanting French Creole queen herself, Morgan Giji, who's earned critical acclaim from foreign press. A festival veteran, Morgan made her debut in 2018 and returned again in 2019 due to popular demand. This time around, she'll take the stage with the illustrious Red Army Choir of Russia. Expect tunes from her latest album, as well as hits such as "Woman Soldier," "Time Bomb," and "Radio On."
China sends a unique folk metal band, Mysterain, to the festival. Known for their signature fusion of Cantonese opera melodies, traditional instruments, and powerful guitar riffs, their music tells deep tales and boasts historical references. Appealingly both dramatic and catchy, their songs make for an unforgettable experience.
The Serbian Resavac Balkan Trio, a World Music outfit, will also be gracing the stage. With a focus on original compositions and works by Emir Kusturica and Goran Bregovic, the trio showcases the incredible talents of leader Dušan Rešavak, who's proficient in playing over 80 different instruments. Prepare for captivating jazz improvisations and a rich, Balkan-inspired color.
Joining the ranks from beyond our borders is the Samara trio TARAXACUM, winners of the 2024 ethnic music Mir Award. Known for their re-energized arrangements of Russian folk tunes culled from across the country, they'll perform fan favorites alongside rare compositions studied during ethnographic expeditions.
Another homegrown act will be the Krasnoyarsk Folk Choir "Oberezhe," which gained recognition at the federal level in 2024, making it to the "Zвезда-2024" finals and finding their way into top playlists on major radio stations. This year, the group impressed at the "Новая волна 2025" international contest, where Igor Krutoy served as one of the judges. The ensemble characterizes their work as a fusion of folk and avant-garde theater elements.
