Beginning his tenure on the show in 1990, Clausen produced 42 musical cues for the "Treehouse of Horror" special and went on to score more than 550 episodes, using a full live orchestra for most of his work. His notable compositions include "See My Vest," "Always My Dad," and "Ode to Branson," among others. Clausen's contributions proved instrumental in shaping the show's unique sound, with his creations etching a lasting impression on pop culture.

In recognition of his exceptional work, Clausen was honored with two Emmy Awards, one in 1997 and another in 1998 for Original Song. He was also nominated a staggering 28 more times for "The Simpsons."
