In a heartfelt announcement, the creators of the HBO Max series "And Just Like That...", a continuation of the beloved cult classic "Sex and the City", have decided to conclude the story after three seasons. The decision was made some time ago but was only recently announced on August 1, 2025.

Showrunner Michael Patrick King, aged 70, revealed that the current season provides a suitable ending for the series. This decision was not influenced by external factors such as cancellation or declining audience numbers, but rather it was a planned conclusion.

Starring Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw, the series has been a significant part of Parker's professional life for 27 years. Kristin Davis, who portrays Charlotte York since the first "Sex and the City" episode, also shared her thoughts on Instagram, expressing her love for the cast, crew, and the 400 artists working on the show, as well as the loyal fans.

Sarah Jessica Parker and Michael Patrick King waited to announce the end of the series to avoid the word 'final' overshadowing the enjoyment of the series. Parker shared an emotional montage of Carrie Bradshaw's best moments on Instagram and wrote a poem about the end of her character.

The final episode of the current season was penned by Michael Patrick King, and the series will conclude with a two-part finale. The first part will air on August 7 and the second on August 14 on HBO Max in the US, with Sky and Wow in Germany airing the episodes the following day.

The original series "Sex and the City" originally aired on HBO from 1998 to 2004 and was followed by two films, "Sex and the City 1" and part two, which were released in 2008 and 2010, respectively. "And Just Like That..." debuted in 2021 and received massive public support, although it had mixed critical reactions upon its debut.

Despite the end of the series, the impact of "Sex and the City" and its spin-off "And Just Like That..." will undoubtedly remain in the hearts of fans for years to come.

One could find Sarah Jessica Parker, who reprises her iconic role as Carrie Bradshaw in "And Just Like That...," discussing the end of the series on her Instagram account, filled with movies-and-tv posts. The entertainment world bids farewell to HBO's beloved series "Sex and the City" and its successor after a heartfelt announcement of a planned conclusion, following three seasons, with a two-part finale scheduled to air on HBO Max.
