HBO Dominates 2025 Emmy Nominations With 'Severance' Leading at 27 Nods
The 2025 Emmy nominations are out, and HBO Max has made a strong impression with multiple shows receiving double-digit nods. The ceremony is set for September 14, 2025, hosted by Nate Bargatze.
Leading the pack is 'Severance', with a staggering 27 nominations, including six for its principal cast. The show also earned a nod for Outstanding Drama Series, competing against the likes of 'The Pitt', which won the same category last year. Noah Wyle, starring in 'The Pitt', received his first Emmy nomination since the '90s.
Other notable nominees include 'The Studio' for Outstanding Comedy Series, with a total of 23 nominations, the most for a comedy. 'The Penguin' and 'The Last of Us' are among the contenders for Outstanding Limited Or Anthology Series. Colin Farrell and Michelle Williams received nods for their roles in 'The Penguin' and 'Dying for Sex', respectively. Adam Scott and Britt Lower were recognised for their performances in 'Severance'.
Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy also made the cut, nominated for Outstanding Television Movie. The 2025 Emmys promise a thrilling night of recognition for the year's best in television.
