Training Through the Storm: John and Sean Quinn's Dedication at Goodwood

In the heart of Goodwood, the weather has been far from tame. Yet, amidst the wild winds and rain, John and Sean Quinn have remained steadfast in their commitment to their horses and the demanding world of racing.

John Quinn, the seasoned 64-year-old trainer, stands at the top of the Malton gallops, binoculars in hand and a fluorescent orange hi-vis jacket and flat cap on his head. Below him, his son Sean, at 34 years old, is hard at work at the bottom of the gallops, overseeing the horses as they make their way uphill.

"We’re flat out, but I love it when we’re like that," Sean said, reflecting the dynamic duo's acceptance and even enjoyment of their busy work environment. Their days are filled with managing multiple lots of horses as they navigate the rolling Yorkshire hills, even on a rare day without a runner.

The recent passage of Storm Floris has not deterred them. Despite the unseasonable wild weather, they quickly returned to their rigorous training schedule, showcasing their resilience and dedication.

Their routine is not just a job; it's a lifestyle. As the horses make their way from Sean to John, it's clear that the father-son team's hard work and dedication are paying off. The horses of John and Sean Quinn can be found on the Malton gallops, where the duo continues to push through the challenges, ensuring that their horses are in peak condition for the races ahead.
