Harry's royal entourage responds tersely to allegations suggesting William plans to oust him in the future
Prince Harry, who relocated to the US in 2020, has expressed a desire to reconnect with his family, particularly his father, King Charles, and brother, Prince William. The Duke of Sussex has taken steps towards reconciliation, such as offering transparency about his schedule to avoid clashes with royal events, which experts view as positive moves towards rebuilding trust within the family.
However, concrete reconciliation before Prince William's coronation has not been confirmed publicly and remains uncertain. Royal insiders claim that Prince William has no intention of building bridges with Harry, while others suggest that the brothers have shown some gestures towards reconciliation.
Prince Harry has admitted to "many disagreements" with his family but said he is ready for reconciliation and has "forgiven" them. The importance of moving past conflict, according to Harry, is that "life is precious." Reconciliation, however, appears to depend on laying aside personal pride, particularly on Harry's part, as advised by commentators and psychotherapists.
Harry is reportedly "seriously worried" that William may banish him once he becomes King. The Duke of Sussex has expressed a hope that his family will attend the Invictus Games and reconcile publicly, and he plans to return to the UK in 2027 for the Invictus Games in Birmingham.
Harry's team met with one of King Charles' aides in London, sparking hope for a reunion. The Duke of Sussex has also discussed his fractured familial relationships in his memoir, Spare. Prince William has considered Harry's position when it comes to his future coronation.
Despite the uncertainty, there is optimism from royal experts about a possible peaceful resolution ahead. However, it remains unclear if this will occur in time for William's coronation or if the brothers will fully reconcile by then. Harry and Meghan Markle are unlikely to return to the UK.
