Harry, Duke of Sussex, cedes control in Netflix agreement, allowing Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, to assume the main role
Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, is making waves in the entertainment industry with his role as a producer on upcoming Netflix projects. However, his name appears quite far down the list, indicating a shared role with other producers.
Jennie Bond, a renowned royal expert, believes that Harry can make a real difference in charitable work, suggesting that he may be better off focusing his efforts there. Bond's observations imply a potential shift in Prince Harry's focus away from television work.
"Producing TV shows may not be as easy as Harry thought," Bond said, implying that he might be reconsidering his involvement in the television sphere. She further added that while Harry will have a "little foot" in the Netflix camp, his primary focus will remain on his charitable work.
This is not the first time that Bond has expressed such views. Historically, she has been critical of Harry's media ventures, suggesting that he may not be well-suited for producing television programs.
Prince Harry's current role in TV production involves continuing to produce film and television projects through Archewell Productions, the media company he runs jointly with Meghan Markle. Their partnership with Netflix, initially a multi-year output deal signed in 2020, was switched to a "first look deal" as of August 2025. Under this deal, they have produced several notable projects such as Harry & Meghan (a docuseries about their personal journey), Heart of Invictus, and Live to Lead.
Most recently, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are in talks to produce a documentary about Princess Diana, reflecting their ongoing interest in telling stories related to their personal and royal histories.
However, Bond's recent observations suggest that Prince Harry's future involvement with Netflix may be limited. As of now, the details of the upcoming Netflix projects remain very vague.
