Harry and Meghan sign on for further production with Netflix, aiming to generate fresh material
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have extended their partnership with streaming giant Netflix through a new multi-year deal. The agreement, a continuation of the couple's post-royal streaming ventures, grants Netflix first-look rights on upcoming projects from Archewell Productions.
The renewed deal marks a shift from the original 2020 overall deal, which granted Netflix exclusive rights to all their projects and covered overhead costs. This latest agreement is less exclusive and reportedly less lucrative, although it still reflects confidence in the couple's brand and content vision.
Archewell Productions has delivered several shows for Netflix, including the fifth-most popular documentary series ever, Harry & Meghan, which attracted 23.4 million views. Other successful series include Live to Lead, Heart of Invictus, and Polo, all scheduled for release in the coming years.
One of the most talked-about projects from Archewell Productions is With Love, Meghan, a cooking show that garnered 5.3 million views in the first half of 2025, becoming Netflix’s most-watched culinary show since its release. However, the series has been met with mixed reviews, with some viewers calling it overly staged and out of touch.
Despite the mixed reception, Netflix is backing a second season of With Love, Meghan. Additionally, a holiday special is scheduled to air later this month, inviting audiences to "join Meghan in Montecito for a magical holiday celebration."
The partnership now includes Meghan Markle’s lifestyle brand As Ever, which features products like wine and cookie mix and is integrated into their content strategy with Netflix.
Furthermore, a feature adaptation of Carley Fortune's romantic novel, Meet Me at the Lake, is also planned under the new deal.
Netflix's chief content officer, Bela Bajaria, has praised Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's storytelling efforts, stating, "They are committed to creating thoughtful content across genres that resonates globally."
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed the extension on Monday, August 11. Memes and TikToks have poked fun at Meghan Markle's on-screen persona in With Love, Meghan, while some viewers have criticised its polished, curated aesthetic. Despite this, the couple remains focused on creating content that speaks to a global audience.
