Harp tunes from the Celtic region resound in Schweina on August 25
On August 17, 2025, the Evangelical Church Community of Schweina is hosting a special concert titled "Norland Wind - Harp Music and Song from the Celtic Northwest." The event, which starts at 5 PM, will take place in Laurentiuskirche.
Norland Wind is a musical group known for their enchanting soundscapes filled with mystical power. Their unique sound is a blend of Celtic and Nordic music traditions, creating a fusion that combines the melodic and rhythmic elements of these two rich cultural musical styles.
The trio performing at the concert consists of Kerstin Blodig (Vocals, Guitar), Thomas Loefke (Celtic Harp), and Ian Melrose (Vocals, Guitar, Low Whistle). Their music includes Gaelic songs from Ireland and the magic of the Celtic harp.
Many of their compositions were inspired by the island and coastal landscapes of Northwestern Europe. This connection to the sea and the land is evident in their music, which evokes a sense of the rugged beauty of the region.
Advance tickets for the concert are available at Friseur Nürnberger (Schweina), Hubertusapotheke (Schweina), and the post office (Bad Liebenstein) for 20 Euro. Tickets at the door will cost 23 Euro.
Before the concert, the church garden will host a welcome event offering small treats and good conversations. This is a great opportunity to meet fellow music lovers and enjoy some pre-concert refreshments.
Norland Wind has captivated audiences in multiple European countries, Canada, and the USA, both as a trio and in larger formations with Riverdance violinist Máire Breatnach. This concert promises to be a memorable experience, blending tradition and modernity in a way that only Norland Wind can.
Don't miss out on this unique musical event. Join us at Laurentiuskirche on August 17, 2025, for an evening of enchanting Celtic-Nordic music with Norland Wind.
