Jungle Camp 2026: He wants out of the shadow of his father - that's Hardy Krüger - Hardy Krüger joins I’m a Celebrity 2026 with a star-studded jungle lineup
The 19th season of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! begins on January 23, 2026, with twelve new contestants facing challenges in the Australian jungle. Among them is Hardy Krüger, the son of the late German screen legend, who has dropped the 'Jr.' suffix and now goes by Hardy Daniel Krüger. The RTL reality show will feature a mix of well-known personalities taking on the show’s infamous trials.
Hardy Krüger was born in Lugano, Switzerland, but spent much of his childhood on a farm in Tanzania. He is one of six children—four biological and two adopted—with his late brother, Paul-Luca, passing away in 2011 at just eight months old from sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). The loss led Krüger into a battle with alcoholism, culminating in multiple organ failure in 2013.
From 2021 to 2025, he and his wife Alice ran a café in Berlin-Köpenick before stepping into the spotlight once again. Now, he joins the show alongside other contestants, including Simone Ballack, Gil Ofarim, and Mirja du Mont. RTL has sent all twelve participants to Australia, where they will compete in the jungle-based challenges that define the series. The lineup also features Stephen Dürr, Ariel Hediger, Patrick Romer, Umut Tekin, Hubert Fella, Eva Benetatou, and Samira Yavuz. Each will face physical and mental tests as they vie for public votes to stay in the competition.
The new season marks Krüger’s return to public attention after years away from the media. His participation follows a period of personal struggles and a shift into entrepreneurship. Viewers will see how he and the other contestants handle the show’s demanding conditions when it airs from January 23, 2026.
