Harburg's reigning king, temporarily, announced in Heimfeld for the current year

In the heart of Schützenheimfeld, a historic district in Harburg, Hamburg, an unexpected event unfolded on Sunday evening. Niels Kreller was proclaimed as the new king of the Heimfelder Schützen, a traditional marksmen's association with a rich history dating back to 1890.

Niels Kreller, a member of the Harburg Schützen guild and the Schießklub Scharnhorst, was not initially considering the role of king. However, his shot, the 706th overall, marked a significant event in the Heimfelder Schützen's history, as he successfully shot down the wooden bird's body.

The Heimfelder Schützen, unlike many other clubs, does not separate men and women in their shooting activities. This inclusive approach is reflected in the leadership, with Mareike Ringel serving as queen, Claudia Klensang as vice-queen, and Anna-Sophie Becker holding the title of junior queen. All three women are also active members of the Heimfelder Schützen.

Mareike Ringel, Claudia Klensang, and Anna-Sophie Becker will continue to lead the club, with Mareike Ringel accompanying Niels Kreller as queen to balls and events. Claudia Klensang, as vice-queen, will support Niels Kreller in his new role.

Interestingly, Kreller is likely to be the only majesty among the Heimfelder Schützen who received the King's Order as their first award. This honour further underscores his significance within the guild.

The proclamation of Niels Kreller as king was a momentous occasion for the Heimfelder Schützen, and it will undoubtedly shape the future of this historic club. As more information about Niels Kreller and his role within the Heimfelder Schützen becomes available, we will bring you updates.

Niels Kreller's coronation as king signifies a shift in the traditional roles within the Heimfelder Schützen, as he becomes the only majesty amongst them. The club, known for its inclusive approach, also includes other sports, such as tennis, table tennis, and futsal, in addition to their distinctive marksmen activities.
