It's almost surreal that we'll finally catch up with the iconic character in Happy Gilmore 2, set to hit the big screens almost three decades after the original comedy bombarded theaters. And boy, does it look like Happy Gilmore's legendary rivalry with Shooter McGavin is set to heat up once more, fueling our anticipation to the max.

Spotting Heavyweight names like Bad Bunny, Ben Stiller, and Travis Kelce alongside Happy Gilmore 2 fills me with a wave of excitement that I've been waiting to crest since the project's inception.
As two titanic forces, it seems Happy and Shooter are readying themselves for a major confrontation, but the reasons behind it all are still under wraps. A shame Icebox's original Happy Gilmore 2 role didn't pan out, given how much I now desire seeing him go head-to-head against Happy in a caddy showdown.
But who are we rooting for in this cat-and-mouse game, after all these years? It sure feels like it could be none other than... Shooter McGavin himself (Christopher McDonald)?! Watching this loathsome sports movie villain in action just amplifies the arduous wait for Happy Gilmore 2's Netflix premier on July 25th.
As Happy Gilmore already starts heaping insults on Shooter, I can't help but wonder where this rivalry is headed and how Shooter will respond after all this time. Maybe they should've named this movie Happy Gilmore: The Final Showdown; given the sheer number of plot threads reminiscent of the past that this full trailer promises to resolve.
Social media buzz from the film's production hints at a scene featuring Ben Stiller running, and quick glimpses of characters resembling relatives of Carl Weathers' beloved Chubbs, Richard Kiel, and Joe Flaherty's original Happy Gilmore characters suggest a family reunion of sorts. Not to mention the intriguing possibility of a Jon Lovitz cameo. This all adds up to a thrilling continuation of what's already considered one of the best '90s movies ever!
