Hansa Rostock extends contract with youth striker - Hansa Rostock loans Tim Krohn to Oberhausen for season-long development push
Hansa Rostock has extended the contract of young forward Tim Krohn ahead of schedule. The 20-year-old will now spend the rest of the 2025-26 season on loan at Rot-Weiß Oberhausen to gain more first-team experience. Club officials believe regular playing time will be key for his development.
Krohn has already made 38 competitive appearances for Hansa Rostock. Despite his involvement, the club sees further growth as necessary. A loan move was agreed to provide him with consistent match action.
Rot-Weiß Oberhausen, a traditional club in the West Regionalliga, currently competes for promotion. The team’s ambitions align with Krohn’s need for high-level experience. Hansa Rostock’s football director, Amir Shapourzadeh, expressed confidence in the decision, stating that regular minutes would accelerate the youngster’s progress. The loan deal covers the remainder of the season. Krohn will return to Rostock with the aim of securing a stronger role in the first team.
The move allows Krohn to develop in a competitive environment. Rot-Weiß Oberhausen’s promotion push offers him a chance to test himself at a higher intensity. Hansa Rostock’s long-term plan remains focused on integrating him into their senior squad after the loan.
