Petra Bahr, once the regional bishop hailing from the bustling city of Hannover, is now set to make waves in Berlin as she takes on the position of state secretary within the Federal Ministry of Education, Family, Seniors, Women, and Youth. Headed by Minister Karin Prien (CDU), this ministry is poised to witness a fresh perspective under Bahr's guidance.

As announced by the Evangelical Church of Hannover, Bahr (59), an esteemed theologian who has mastered her craft for years, is ready to bring her wisdom and keen analytical insight to Berlin's political sphere. Bishop Ralf Meister, in a heartfelt statement, praised Bahr for shaping her role as regional bishop leading to influential discourse between church, politics, science, and culture.

With a decorated past, Bahr was previously the head of the politics department at the CDU-affiliated Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung e.V. and the cultural commissioner of the Council of the Evangelical Church in Germany. In 2002, she earned her doctorate from the University of Basel with a thesis on Immanuel Kant's "Critique of Judgment." Bahr also taught religious philosophy and ethics at the University of Frankfurt am Main from 2000 to 2006.
