Hanoi Police seek to maintain success following triumph in Super National Football Cup
Ha Noi Police have etched their name in the history books of Vietnamese football after clinching their first-ever Super National Cup title. In a thrilling final held at Thien Truong Stadium in the Ninh Binh Province, Ha Noi Police emerged victorious against Nam Dinh, securing a 3-2 win.
The match started with Coach Mano Polking's side taking the lead, thanks to a goal from Alan Grafite in the 38th minute. The advantage was short-lived, as Kyle Hudlin, Nam Dinh's towering English striker, equalised just before half-time.
The second half saw a resurgence from Nam Dinh, with Hudlin scoring twice - once in the 54th minute and another from a penalty kick. However, Ha Noi Police refused to be outdone. In the second additional minute, Leo Artur found the back of the net, securing the victory for the Police.
Nguyen Dinh Bach added a consolation goal for Nam Dinh in the eighth additional minute, but it was too little, too late. The final whistle blew, and Ha Noi Police celebrated their hard-fought victory.
Coach Mano Polking expressed his excitement about earning his second title in Vietnam, stating, "Winning the Super National Cup for the first time is a great achievement for Ha Noi Police. I am proud of my team's determination and resilience."
Traan Dinh Troong, a defender for Ha Noi Police, shared in the coach's sentiment, expressing excitement and satisfaction after the victory. "We worked hard for this win, and it feels amazing to bring the trophy back to Ha Noi," he said.
Kyle Hudlin, despite expressing disappointment at not helping Nam Dinh win the match, acknowledged that Ha Noi Police deserved the trophy. "They were the better team today. We fought hard, but they showed more quality when it mattered," he admitted.
With this victory, Ha Noi Police have shown that they are a force to be reckoned with in the V.League 1. Coach Mano Polking has stated his ambition to win all competitions next season, including the V.League 1, the National Cup, and the AFC Champions League Two.
As the 2025-2026 season approaches, Ha Noi Police will begin their V.League 1 campaign on August 15, hosting Thể Công Viettel at Hàng Đẫy Stadium. With Coach Mano Polking confirming his commitment to the Super Cup winners, fans can expect an exciting season ahead as Ha Noi Police aim to defend their title and conquer more.
