Hannah Bergemann to make debut at the highly anticipated Red Bull Rampage event
Hannah Bergemann, a freeride mountain biker from the United States, has made a significant mark in the world of big mountain freeride competitions. The Red Bull Rampage, an event notorious for its challenging terrain, has seen a major evolution, and Bergemann has been right at the heart of it.
Expanded over two days, the Red Bull Rampage now features a women's category for the first time, and Bergemann has been a prominent figure in this groundbreaking development.
Born and raised in Hood River, Oregon, Bergemann's passion for outdoor sports began with freestyle skiing, where she excelled in slopestyle, rail jams, and halfpipe competitions. This background in snow sports helped cultivate her creativity and love for learning new tricks, which she later translated to her mountain biking career.
Bergemann's mountain biking journey gained momentum in 2019 when she attended the inaugural Red Bull Formation camp, an event designed to prepare female freeriders for the Red Bull Rampage competition. At this camp, she was awarded the Evolution in Action award, marking a significant milestone in her freeride career.
Despite an unfortunate injury that prevented her participation in the 2024 Red Bull Rampage, Bergemann made a much-anticipated debut at the 2025 event. Positioned as one of the leading women competitors, she delivered a strong performance, even securing a second-place position at one point in the competition against other elite riders like Kirsten Van Horne.
This debut at the Red Bull Rampage represents a significant achievement for Bergemann, underlining her ascent in the sport and her resilience after recovery from injury. As a rising star and influential athlete in women's freeride mountain biking, Bergemann continues to push the boundaries of what is possible in this thrilling and evolving sport.
