Cristina Neagu, the legendary Romanian handball player who recently hung up her jersey, is sashing her way back into the headlines with a jaw-dropping nomination for the European Handball Federation (EHF) Excellence Awards! 🏆

Joining her are 46 other European players, including a resolute seven from local teams! 🌟 The third edition of these prestigious awards honors the cream of the crop from the 2024-2025 season. Excitement is running high as votes from fans will account for a lion's share of the decision - 25%, to be exact - with the remaining 75% coming from players, coaches, and the media. 🗳️

The 47 nominees were carefully selected by EHF experts, with three players also bestowed with accolades from the European arena: Isabelle Gulldén, Nerea Pena, and Sanja Vujovic Damnjanovic. 🌟

The Team of the Season will be announced on June 11, with the best players being unveiled on June 27 during the draw for the upcoming Champions League season. 🏐

In the left back position, Cristina Neagu stands tall alongside fellow nominees Emma Friis, Elizabeth Omoregie, Nathalie Hagman, Trine Østergaard, Albertina Kassoma, Crina Pintea, and Djurdjina Jaukovic. 💫

The only player to win the title of "World's Best Player" an astounding four times (by the International Handball Federation), she has participated in the Olympic Games in 2008 and 2016, won bronze at the 2015 World Championships and the 2010 European Championships. 🌟
