Hanau Launches Germany's 2026 Sports Badge Tour with a Day for All Ages

Hanau will kick off the DOSB German Sports Badge Tour 2026 with a day of activities for all ages. The event takes place on June 12 at the newly redesigned Lindenau Sports Facility in Großauheim. Everyone from the region is welcome to join, no matter their fitness level or ability.

The tour begins and ends in Hanau, making it the only city to host both the opening and closing ceremonies. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., offering something for all participants. Preschoolers can earn a Mini-Sports Badge through playful challenges, while older attendees work toward the full German Sports Badge in various disciplines.

Swimming proficiency is required for the badge and can be verified at the nearby Lindenau Swimming Pool. Trained examiners from local clubs, schools, and volunteer groups will record performances on-site. Extra examiner training is also underway to accommodate as many participants as possible.

A lively side programme will keep the atmosphere engaging. Interactive demonstrations, games, and photo opportunities will run alongside the main activities. Schools in Hanau and the Main-Kinzig district are encouraged to take part, with the first five schools registering over 50 participants receiving a DOSB Children's Game Box.

Mayor and Sports Commissioner Dr. Maximilian Bieri highlighted the event's role in bringing the community together. He stressed its importance as a shared experience for residents of all backgrounds.

The event aims to involve people of every age and ability in a day of sport and fun. With activities for preschoolers, schoolchildren, and adults, organisers hope to make it a memorable occasion. The tour's closing ceremony will also take place in Hanau, marking the end of a nationwide celebration of fitness and community.
