Napoli and Fiorentina Midfield Shake-ups: Diawara and Zielinski Take Centre Stage

In the ongoing football season, there have been some notable changes in the midfield positions for Napoli and Fiorentina.

At Napoli, the 19-year-old Amadou Diawara has replaced Marek Hamsik in the midfield, becoming the preferred choice for coach Maurizio Sarri. Diawara has played 25 times until the Crotone game, a testament to his consistent performance. Interestingly, the competition between Diawara and Jorginho for control of the midfield seems to be ongoing, with no clear winner as of yet.

Sarri decided to give Hamsik a rest during the game against Empoli on October 26. This move seemed to have solidified Diawara's position, as he has been the choice in the Champions League for the last four games. Allan, who started the season in midfield, has been competing with Zielinski, but the latter took over the position after the start of the season.

Meanwhile, at Fiorentina, Zielinski currently leads in the midfield. The competition between Zielinski and Allan for the midfield position seems to be ongoing, with no clear winner as of yet. Zielinski's impressive performance has seen him take over midfield duties from Allan at the start of the season.

In the Champions League, Napoli's midfield has been a rotating door, with Diawara being the latest addition to the lineup. Meanwhile, Juventus has favoured a quartet of midfield players in their last four games - Manuel Locatelli, Teun Koopmeiners, Vasilije Adžić, and Khephren Thuram.

Despite these changes, both Napoli and Fiorentina continue to battle it out in the Serie A, with their midfield performances playing a crucial role in their success.
