Hamilton Expresses Strong Preference for Single Racecar
Lewis Hamilton's Ferrari F40 Obsession Remains Unfulfilled
Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton has expressed his desire to create a modern version of the iconic Ferrari F40, which he has nicknamed the "F44". However, the Ferrari F40, the last Ferrari equipped with a manual transmission, remains elusive in Hamilton's collection.
Hamilton's fascination with the Ferrari F40 is well documented, but the supercar remains out of his reach. Despite owning a collection that includes many rare and desirable Mercedes models, along with Ferraris and a McLaren F1, the F40 has remained elusive. The F40, built over 1,300 examples between 1987 and 1992, is less rare than some of Ferrari's other halo cars, such as the 288 GTO Evoluzione.
The F40, which is older than the Ferrari F40, is owned by private collectors, but no specific individual owner is clearly identified in the search results. The F40 remains highly sought after in auctions and by enthusiasts worldwide.
Ferrari's chief product development officer has suggested that a manual-equipped car could be in the future, but for now, the F40 remains a relic of the past.
Hamilton's car collection also includes two LaFerraris, a Shelby Cobra, an original GT500 in Eleanor's image, a custom Pagani Zonda 760 LH, made just for him, the AMG Project One, and a Mercedes G63 six-wheeler.
However, Hamilton no longer owns any cars, having sold all of them, except for those with a Prancing Horse badge. His first season with Ferrari has not been successful, and he has sold his private jet to reduce his carbon footprint.
