Study: Music Attracts Tourists and Professionals to Hamburg - Hamburg's Music Scene Drives Tourism and Economy, New Study Finds

A new study reveals Hamburg's musical prowess, with 84% of German and 56% of foreign guests finding its music offerings most attractive. The city's vibrant scene brings in tourists and professionals alike, with 75% of locals happy to live in a city shaped by music.

Alexander Schulz, then chairman of the Hamburg Music Business Association, hailed music as 'the heartbeat of this city'. The representative study, conducted in spring 2025, surveyed over 1,500 people from Hamburg, Germany, and neighboring countries. It found that 54% of respondents consider music particularly important, with 71% agreeing it positively influences their quality of life.

The city's diverse music scene is not just a cultural asset but also an economic factor. The president of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce highlighted its importance. Moreover, 62% of non-Hamburg respondents cited music offerings as a reason to visit the city.
