Hamburg Sports Association Welcomes Back New Year's Reception with Key Figures

The Hamburg Sports Association (HTB) hosted its New Year's reception after a three-year break, attracting around 120 guests from Hamburg politics and sports. The event, held to celebrate the New Year, saw prominent figures such as Dr. Melanie Leonhard, the senator of economics, and presidents of various sports associations in attendance.

HTB president Michael Armbrecht delivered a forward-thinking speech, highlighting the need for clubs and politics to adapt to societal changes. He noted that volunteering is evolving and requires rethinking in many places.

The HTB invited Dr. Maria Schneider, a motivational coach, to speak about keeping and implementing New Year's resolutions. She inspired the audience with her insights.

Other notable attendees included Christian Poon and Christian Okun, board members of the Hamburg Sports Association and president of the Hamburg Football Association, respectively. Presidents of the Hamburg and German cricket associations, along with CEOs of major Hamburg sports clubs, also joined the event.

SPD politician Metin Hakverdi and state councilor Christoph Holstein were among the speakers, adding to the diverse and influential gathering.

The HTB's New Year's reception, back after a three-year pause, brought together key figures from Hamburg's political and sports scenes. The event fostered dialogue and reflection on the news today of volunteering and sports in the city, setting a positive tone for the New Year.
