Hamburg Hotel’s Chocolate Elf Workshop Raises €1,500 for Ill Children

A Hamburg hotel has raised €1,500 for families with seriously ill children. The campaign, led by master pastry chef Ilona Lindenthal, featured a life-sized chocolate elf workshop during December. The donation will go to Ronald McDonald House Charities in the city.

The fundraising effort began as a personal project for Lindenthal, who wanted to thank the charity for supporting her own family in the past. She crafted the elaborate chocolate display, which was showcased in the lounge of Hotel Louis C. Jacob throughout Advent.

Judith Fuchs-Eckhoff, the hotel’s director, highlighted the importance of giving back to the community. She described the initiative as part of the hotel’s ongoing commitment to social responsibility. The money raised will help two local Ronald McDonald Houses—one in Hamburg-Eppendorf and another in Hamburg-Altona. These facilities provide free accommodation and emotional support for families while their children receive hospital treatment.

The €1,500 donation will directly assist families staying near hospitals during difficult times. The hotel’s campaign combined festive creativity with charitable impact, offering practical help to those in need.
