Get ready, film enthusiasts! The 41st Short Film Festival Hamburg is just around the corner. Kicking off on June 3, this six-day event promises a vibrant exploration of love, togetherness, and the richness of life, under the theme "Provocation of Love".

Located in the heart of Hamburg, this festival bursts onto the scene showcasing over 300 films from around the globe. From the depths of the social city to the cinematic (in)visibility of Sinti and Roma, these films encapsulate various forms of togetherness, the glitters of life, and more.

This year, no less than 84 films, chosen from over 5,000 submissions, will compete across three competitions, with prizes totaling 18,500 euros at stake. Many of the nominated filmmakers are expected to grace the festival week, adding an exclusive touch to the event.

The International Competition highlights current aesthetics and new narratives, while the German Competition focuses on the best short films and film school scene, right here in Germany. The competition for the "Triple Axel" will feature films under three minutes, centered around the theme "Mission Impossible", and for the first time, the Kodak Film Award will be given to filmmakers who work consciously with analog film material.

The children and youth program, "Mo&Friese", presents 61 short films, with 38 in competition, ensuring there's something for every age group.

In February, the Short Film Festival received a prestigious honor as the fairest film festival in Germany. This recognition is a testament to the festival's commitment to creating a positive and equitable working environment. With its healthy work atmosphere and staff satisfaction in matters of equality, leadership, remuneration, and co-determination, the Short Film Festival continues to stand tall for over 40 years on the Elbe.

So, fasten your seatbelts and get ready for a week-long cinematic adventure that promises not only great films but also meaningful discussions, workshops, and more. The 41st Short Film Festival Hamburg promises to be a celebration of artistic expression, diversity, and love.
