Autumn Holidays: Hamburg Airport Expects 370,000 Travelers - Hamburg Airport Braces for Busy Autumn Holidays

Hamburg Airport is preparing for a bustling autumn season, with increased passenger numbers expected from Friday, October 17. The airport anticipates around 370,000 passengers weekly during this period, similar to last year's figures.

Popular destinations for this year's autumn include Mediterranean and Canary Island locations like Antalya, Palma de Mallorca, Heraklion, Hurghada, Rhodes, Kos, Gran Canaria, and Fuerteventura. Scandinavian destinations such as Stockholm and Oslo, served by Norwegian airline, are also in demand. Additionally, many attractive European city destinations are accessible via carriers like Eurowings. With over 120 cities serviced from Hamburg Airport, Antalya and Palma de Mallorca remain the most popular choices.

To ensure a smooth travel experience, the airport recommends passengers arrive at least two hours before departure during the autumn season. Hamburg Airport's terminals open at 3:15 AM, and the security checkpoint is staffed from 3:30 AM to accommodate early morning flights.

The autumn holidays in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein begin on October 20. With traffic figures and the number of destinations at last year's levels, Hamburg Airport is well-prepared to handle the increased passenger numbers and ensure a pleasant travel experience for all.
