Halle (Saale) Weekend Crime Wave: Thefts, Vandalism, and Accidents

Halle (Saale) and surrounding areas have seen a series of incidents over the weekend, ranging from thefts and vandalism to traffic offenses and accidents.

In Halle, unknown culprits targeted a vehicle in the Magistrale area, making off with a bag containing personal items. Meanwhile, in Merseburg, a 37-year-old driver was caught behind the wheel of a Volkswagen Audi without a valid license.

Over in Arnstein, approximately 350 liters of diesel were stolen from three construction vehicles, while in Eisleben, a car was found driving the wrong way down Glumestraße. The driver, who also did not have a license, tested positive for intoxicants.

In Landsberg, stainless steel pipes and lines were stolen from a company site in Brehnaer Straße, resulting in mid-five-figure damages. Similarly, several lawn tractors were taken from a company site in Petersberg's Beidersee district, causing around 15,000 euros of damage.

A small fire in a trash can in Merseburg caused an estimated 300 euros of damage, while in Sangerhausen, the paint of a car in Clara-Zetkin-Straße was scratched twice.

On the night between Sunday and Monday, June 13, a car was set on fire in the Magistrale area of Halle. The perpetrator, whose identity remains unknown, also stole a tissue with personal items from the vehicle. In Hettstedt, tires of five vehicles belonging to a catering service were damaged, leading to a breakdown during a delivery trip.

Finally, on June 13 at 11:10 AM, an 87-year-old driver collided with a tram in Halle, injuring a passenger and resulting in the car being towed.

Police are investigating these incidents and urge anyone with information to come forward. The public is reminded to secure their vehicles and belongings to prevent similar occurrences.
