Halle Dragon Boat Club and Cup Celebrate 20th Anniversaries in 2026
This year marks not only the 20th anniversary of the 1. Hallescher Drachenbootverein (Halle Dragon Boat Club) but also the 20th edition of the Halle Dragon Boat Cup. The club, its members, and supporters are thrilled to welcome the first 30 registered teams and look forward to an unforgettable weekend of thrilling races and plenty of fun.
From June 12–14, 2026, the call of "Are you ready? Attention! Go!" will once again echo across the lake. The highlight of the event is Saturday, June 13, 2026, when the first 30 teams—already signed up in various categories—will compete in exciting races. The registration deadline is May 30, 2026, and the club is eager to welcome even more teams!
Whether casual fun teams, corporate squads, or competitive athletes—there's a race format for everyone, with plenty of opportunities for friendly rivalry. A standout feature of the weekend is the 4th Open Inclusive Central German Pink Paddler Dragon Boat Championship, designed for breast cancer survivors and their "Pink Teams," inviting them to race alongside their loved ones. New this year is the Germany Cup Pink & Purple, an inclusive format open to all cancer survivors, regardless of diagnosis. This event sends a powerful message of solidarity and mutual support, embodying the spirit: Together, we are strong.
Beyond the on-water action, visitors can enjoy a lively program of activities. Kids will have a blast with bouncy castles, face painting, and a mobile game station, while adults can explore various stalls or join in crowd favorites like the "beer crate stacking" challenge.
On Saturday evening, the celebration continues in the festival tent after the awards ceremony, with live music from db-AkustikProjekt and DJ Primetime keeping the energy high. The organizers are delighted to welcome both acts back for another year.
Admission is free for all visitors across the entire weekend, with food and drinks available at reasonable prices.
