Halemba keeps AfD leadership busy

"The Daniel Halemba saga continues to captivate heads, with the Bavarian AfD's state parliament member now drawing the attention of the party's federal leadership due to allegations of stirring up the prosecution and other unlawful activities. A meeting of the federal executive committee is set for next Monday evening to discuss the situation, potentially involving alleged breaches of AfD regulations that Halemba, the Würzburg AfD district chairman, is accused of committing.

In addition to his role in the AfD, Halemba is a member of the Teutonia Prag fraternity in Würzburg, which has been under surveillance by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution since December. This scrutiny also extends to the AfD as a whole in Bavaria.

The AfD federal executive committee has requested statements from the Bavarian, Lower Franconia, and Junge Alternative state executive committees, as well as from Halemba himself, to ensure no party rule violations are involved. The responses have been received, and their evaluation includes assessing allegations against Halemba and ongoing investigations.

Meanwhile, the Würzburg public prosecutor's office has accused Halemba of incitement of the people and utilizing anti-constitutional organization symbols. Halemba denies these allegations.

Since the issuance of the arrest warrant, Halemba has been released with mandatory reporting requirements and restrictions on contact with other suspects, including Teutonia Prag fraternity members in Würzburg. This fraternity's activities have come under question by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution due to evidence of aiming against the free democratic order.

Right-wing extremist music and propaganda materials from the Identitarian Movement were found within the fraternity house. The extreme right-wing orientation of the group is evident in numerous stickers and Nazi devotional objects, which displayed agitation against people with a migration background and the rule of law.

The fraternity's activitas and the Junge Alternative have strong personal overlaps, and an activist from the III. Weg small neo-Nazi party was present at two events. Halemba’s case has attracted widespread attention, not just to the AfD and its Würzburg district chairman, but also to the Teutonia Prag fraternity and its right-wing extremist activities."
